At the 2007 Annual General Meeting, Sainsbury's shareholders overwhelmingly approved proposals to take advantage of the increasing use of technology and the benefits of the internet to change the way Sainsbury's communicates information about the company.

This decision is in keeping with Sainsbury's corporate responsibility principle of ‘respect for our environment’.
